Friends of St Eugene’s Cathedral

Private Members’ Draw

Voluntary subscription of £100 or
monthly instalments - will be collected every first Friday
from 6.30 to 8.30 pm in the room above the Sacristy.

Draw will take place on 21st November 2008.

1st Prize: £25,000.
2nd and 3rd Prize: £5,000.
4th - 8th Prize: £2,000.
9th - 18th Prize: £1,000.
19th - 28th Prize: £500.

Total prize payout - £60,000.

Promoter’s pack available from the Sacristy after Masses
or from the Parochial House, Monday to Friday during office hours.


Planned giving envelopes have been distributed. If you contribute by envelope to St Eugene’s Cathedral and have not received a new box yet please collect a box of envelopes at the Parochial House or in the Sacristy after Mass times.
If you live outside the parish and contribute by envelope to St Eugene’s Cathedral please collect your box of envelopes in the Sacristy after Mass times.

Gift Aid Scheme: If you are a taxpayer and use your weekly envelope and wish to join the Gift Aid Scheme, please sign a Gift Aid declaration - available in the Sacristy or in the Parochial House.

Special Diocesan Mass: The Annual Diocesan Mass for those with special needs, and their families and friends, will take place in Saint Joseph’s Church, Galliagh, Derry on Saturday, 12th April, Bishop Lagan will celebrate the Mass.

Poetry Evenings – “Sensing the Sacred” - Mary Murphy will lead a three-session workshop, leisurely exploring some of the longer poems in the Irish output, beginning with Patrick Kavanagh’s ‘The Great Hunger’ on Wednesday, 9th, 16th and 23rd April starting at 7.30 finishing at 9.30 pm in Thornhill Centre. Cost: £5 per night. Please phone 71351233 to reserve a place.

One Hour Vocation Vigil lead by two Seminarians from the Derry Diocese in St Columb’s Church, Waterside on Friday after the 7.30 pm Mass. Tea and refreshments in the Hall adjacent to the Church afterwards.

Sick Visitation - Fr Michael Canny will visit the sick in his care this week:

Mon pm: 3.00 - William St, Columbcille Crt, Chamberlain St, Brewster’s Close.
Wed am: 10.00 - Westland Ave, Westland St, Glenfada Pk, Abbey Pk, Fahan St, Joseph Place.

Thurs am: 10.00 - Limewood St, Beechwood St, Elmwood St.
Thurs pm: 2.00 - Lisfannon Pk (Upper), Eglinton Tce, Blucher St, Liitle Diamond.

Fr O’Kane will visit the sick in his care in William Street Home on Friday morning.

Fr Michael Canny acknowledges with thanks donations for: St Pio: £40. Moshi: £100. Altar flowers: £10, £10, £10, £10. Sisters of St John: £20.

Fr Canny will forward donations totalling £140 to LASCO.

Last Week’s Collection amounted to £3,390.
